Flower City Queens: The New Look calendar celebrates the legacy, style, and impact of the drag scene's BIPOC performers. A huge shoutout to this year’s calendar queens Eva Flow, Carmen Adore, Zenadia, Gemini Stone, Samantha Vega, Cherry Blasé, Kyla Minx, Vanessa LeRoux, Elizabeth Conde, and Donatella Mirage. And we welcome our first Flower City Kings - Tayler Mayde and Valentino Rose! All photographed with the sharp eye of KESA.

Fashion. The word itself evokes different feelings, images, and sensations. Couture evokes the styles of legendary designers and notorious personalities – past and present – with a multi-billion dollar industry always constructing and challenging the human ethos of the time. However, fashion is more than just fabric and accoutrements. Behind its curvatures, textiles, and silhouettes lies a tremendous ability - the power to create and ‘perform’ an identity. There is no better representation of performing fashion than drag queens.

The best of Rochester's local drag scene - and one phenomenal photographer - took time out of their busy schedules to bring this project together. Many are well-known to audiences. Some with international fame, others notorious on the local scene. But each brings a creative talent and artistry to the stage and beyond.
